    Tribes

I recently completed Tribes by Seth Godin, author of Meatball Sundae and Purple Cow. Tribes is a book that breaks with conventions in a number of ways. For one, there is no content page, no forward, no preface and no chapters. What does this tell you? This is book and its is different.

    Praying for Phil

On Sunday afternoon I dropped a friend off at the airport, Phil Baquie. I’ve made a lot of airport runs, but this one was different because Phil has been deployed to Afghanistan. Phil is an incredible friend, musician, songwriter, producer and now soldier. Phil is an Aussie and only became a US citizen a few weeks ago and is now going, as he says, “to give back to the country that has given me so much”.

Will you commit to join me in praying for Phil, as well as all the other soldiers, over his deployment? If so, PLEASE ADD YOUR COMMENT BELOW as an encouragement to our friend.

    SONICFLOOD Christmas Photos

I had the privilege of snapping a few photos of the November 12 Sonicflood show. The show was for the taping of a Christmas special as well as a send off for lead guitarist, Phil Baquie who was just deployed to “Operation Enduring Freedom” in Afghanistan.

    More than Enough

When Wesley, was born Lorri and I were delighted. We had waiting and prayed for 7 years for this child. We had almost given up. When we found out we were pregnant with number two I got nervous. As foolish as it sounds, I loved my son so much I didn’t know if there would be enough love left for another child. I was afraid I would love one more than the other.

    Insufficient for That Day

Recently I have been thinking about 9/11. I remember the morning of September 11, 2001. I had taken our 6 month old daughter and our 19 month old son to Centennial Park in Nashville. The pictures are one of the reasons that day is so vivid to me–I took a lot that morning. It was truly a beautiful day and, ironically enough, a peaceful one. The kids ran in the big open spaces, feeding the ducks, throwing rocks in the ponds and generally be mesmerized by the cascading water fountains.
