Recently while having dinner with some friends we began talking about the neighborhoods we grew up in.  My wife, Lorri, shared how for her parents 50th anniversary we took a driving tour of Chicago to visit the places her family had lived. memory lane 300x199 A Walk Down Memory LaneOur friend had the same experience with his parents, but they couldn’t actually drive around their old neighborhoods, so they did the next best thing. My friend opened up Google earth and with his 70 year old mother, made the walk from her childhood home to her school, the very same walk she had made as a child so many times before.  He said what was interesting to him was that as they “walked” along his mother shared details he had never heard of her friends and neighbors from 60 plus years before.  What a great use of technology – to walk down memory lane.
